About Jordan

Aqaba is strategically located at the crossroads of four countries and three continents. Situated at the Gulf of Aqaba leading to the Red Sea. From Aqaba's town center, the borders of Israel, Egypt's Sinai and Saudi Arabia are no more than a half hour drive away.

Surrounded by rugged mountains that subtly change color as the day unfolds, Aqaba is Jordan's only port city. Its crystal clear waters, abundant marine life and pleasant climate (With moderate temperatures in winter and fresh cooling sea breezes in summer), make it an ideal location for year round scuba diving, snorkeling and other water sports. The Red Sea's unique marine ecosystem includes more than 140 species of coral and countless varieties of brightly colored fish, some of which are unique to the region.

Accommodations include something for everyone's budget, ranging from very inexpensive to five star hotels, or you can even camp on the beach.

Aqaba International Airport is situated to the north of the town, just 20 minutes from the town center. Transportation within Aqaba is easy and inexpensive. Taxis, international car rental agencies and buses are readily available for any destination.

Climate (Aqaba):
Winter: 77F+ - 25°C+
Summer: Can reach 104F - 40°C
Water Temp: Averages 80F - 22.5°C
