TABUTNE
I
The
Tabutne I is a 70 foot, fully equipped yacht and is
Roatan's luxury LiveAboard scuba diving boat in the
beautiful Bay Islands of Honduras. For your pleasure,
we offer a 7-Day package. Roatan offers the best Roatan
Honduras SCUBA diving in the southern Caribbean. We
also offer scuba instruction for all ages and interests,
whether you would like to learn to dive or become an
instructor.
The
island is surrounded by one the world's largest coral
reefs, hugging most of the shore. Roatan Honduras scuba
diving is famous for calm, clear beaches for swimming
and snorkeling, and many varieties of sea life.
Our
Dive Sites
All
Dive sites are the discretion of the boat captain due
to weather permitting. If a dive site can not be dove
there will be an alternate plan for other sites. Tabutne
I dives 95 sites in Roatan and the west end and 49 sites
in Utila. Here are a few sites in Roatan and a few in
Utila.
1.West
Ends Wall - West bay 20 ft to 90 ft and descent continues
to depths beyond recreational dive limits.
2.Half Moon Bay Wall - This dive is also good for snorkeling
with plenty of shallows. Known to see seahorses. Wall
descends vertically from 50 ft. to 120 ft. with a sandy
bottom.
3.Fish Den - This site is true to it's name not only
is there an impressive topography here to explore, there
also lives a huge variety of fish species.
4.Dive Master's Choice - The top part of the wall faces
in between 30 and 40 ft where there are many channels
running perpendicular to the coast. Also a great snorkeling
and night dive area.
5.Utila - The whale shark capital
6.Cayos
Cochinos Island
Diving
Conditions
The
water averages 80°F, rising to a high of 82°
- 84°F in July, August and September, and dropping
to a low of 74°F for a few weeks in December and
January. A 3mm wet suit (1/8") or heavy lycra suit
(Polartec) is recommended apart from the warmer months
of summer, but even then, at least a thin lycra suit
is suggested, as diver often make four or more dives
a day and may develop a chill.
Itinerary
Board
on Saturday afternoon, get settled in, enjoy a great
dinner, relax and get to know your way around the boat.
We depart on Sunday morning for our first dive site.
You may dive up to five dives per day. All dive sites
are selected based on prevailing weather for that area
for your safety. Experienced divers with computers may
go off without a guide, or you may join one of our experienced
instructors or divemasters. We return to the dock on
Friday afternoon where you can enjoy the local sites,
or we can arrange a land tour for you.
