is the sixth largest island in the Bahamas. A famous landmark
is Mt. Alvernia, the Bahamas tallest summit, is all of
206 feet. There are nearly 1700 residents throughout Cat
Island's 150 square miles. The island is picturesque with
rolling hills, dense vegetation and fantastic beaches.
There are four airports or airstrips on Cat Island. Arthur's
Town on the north end of the island is the largest. The
other three are at Fernandez Bay, New Bight and Hawk's
Nest. Both commercial and private charter flights are
available from the mainland U.S. and Nassau.
Transportation on Cat Island is by taxi, but resorts often
provide transportation to and from airports.

to divers in every way. All-inclusive packages are the
standard fare. Cat Island offers divers a mixture of beautiful
shallow and deep reefs and a healthy population of colorful
